MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho volleyball team fell, 3-2, to Montana on Thursday evening. The Vandals (12-13, 8-5 BSC) jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but the Grizzlies (5-19, 4-9 BSC) came back to take the match.

Kyra Palmbush led the Vandals with 13 kills.
Avery Housley had 11 kills and 11 digs, while
Kennedy Warren chipped in 12 kills and 14 digs.
Donnée Janzen finished with 37 assists in the match.

The Vandals took control early, going up 10-9 in the first set and then cruising to a 25-20 victory to take a 1-0 lead. The second set was more of the same, with Idaho keeping the momentum and going up 2-0 in the match with a 25-19 win.

In set three, the Griz began to assert themselves, taking their first lead at 5-4 and going on to win, 25-20.

The fourth set was a back-and-forth affair. With the score tied, 19-19, the two teams traded sideouts until Montana was able to string two points together and take the set, 25-23, and tie up the match.

The Griz jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the decisive fifth set. The Vandals clawed back into it, and pushed the set and match to extra points, but ultimately Montana earned the 18-16 set victory to win, 3-2.

Idaho hosts Montana State on Saturday, November 9. The match is at 1 p.m. in Memorial Gym.
