MOSCOW, Idaho – The University of Idaho Track & Field program is thrilled to announce the signing of Mia Hill of North CenÂtral High School in Spokane, Wash. Hill is a very talented distance runner who has been a rock for North Central, one of the most competitive high school programs in the country.
Â
Hill has consistently been one of the top runners in the state of Washington since her freshman year. Her consistency at the Washington State Cross Country Championship meet is impressive. Hill finished 11th as a freshman, sixth as a sophomore, eighth as a junior, and most recently ninth as a senior. Hill's ninth place finish secured a record breaking performance by her team. North Central won the state title with a state record low score of 20 points. Hill and her North Central team qualÂified for the Nike Cross National meet, which will take place this weekend in Portland, Ore. She has a personal best of 18:07 for 5000m in cross country.
Â
Hill has had success in track & field as well. She has been incredibly consistent in the 3200m at the WashÂington State Track & Field Championships in the 3200m as well. Hill placed sixth as a freshman, fifth as a sophÂomore, and eighth as a junior. Hill has personal bests of 10:59.73 in the 3200m and 5:06.81 in the 1600m.
