MOSCOW, Idaho—The University of Idaho Athletics recognized its student-athletes at the Vandal Student-Athlete Graduation Ceremony Friday evening at the Administration Building Auditorium on campus.
The ceremony highlighted the academic and athletic success of this year's senior class of the Vandal student-athletes ahead of Saturday's spring commencement.
The evening kicked off with Director of Student-Athlete Support Services and Senior Women Administrator,
Krista Gray, welcoming the seniors and their families before handing over the platform to Interim Athletic Director
Pete Isakson for an encourage send-off. Dr.
Brian Wolf, Idaho's Faculty Athletic Representative, provided inspiring remarks for the student-athletics before senior Mikayla Ferenz presented the senior statement among her peers.
The Rich and Mary Fox Memorial Scholarship recipients were
Erin Hagen (Track and Field),
Kelly Dopke (Soccer),
Mikayla Ferenz (Women's Basketball) and
Emily Kliewer (Swimming and Diving) . Each recipient received $1,500 as a part for the scholarship for maintaining a 4.0 GPA throughout their seven semesters at Idaho.
Thirty-two student-athletes were honored for their commitment in academics and athletics as they each were presented with an athletics graduation sash, which will be worn as they received their college degree on Saturday.
Graduation at the University of Idaho takes place Saturday, May 11.
