MOSCOW, Idaho – The 2019 Idaho cross country schedule is locked in, as announced by the team on Monday.

Idaho will primarily compete locally, with three-of-four regular season meets taking place in the region. The season opens at the annual Clash of the Inland Northwest, taking place in Cheney, Wash., on Aug. 30.

The Vandals will get their first look at a championship course on Sept. 13, with a trip to Colfax, Wash., for the WSU Pre-West Invitational. The Vandals plan to see the course again later in the year at the 2019 NCAA West Regional Championships.

The regular season closes with trips to the Bill Dellinger Invitational (Marcola, Ore.) on Sept. 28, and the Inland Empire Championships (Lewiston, Idaho) on Oct. 12.

Championship season opens in Greeley, Colo., with the Big Sky Cross Country Championships on Nov. 2. The NCAA West Regional Championships take place in Colfax on Nov. 15, and the 2019 NCAA Cross Country Championships are the following weekend in Terre Haute, Ind.

Idaho returns two very talented rosters in 2019. Five of the top seven student-athletes from last year's Big Sky Championships are back on both sides.

Kara Story was Idaho's top finisher on the women's side last year, finishing in third overall at the conference championships.Â
Fabian Cardenas was second for the Vandal men last year and leads the group of returners that includes four scorers from last year's championships.
