Men's Basketball

@VandalHoops Adds Forrest

MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho men's basketball is excited to announce another new Vandal, with graduate transfer Quinton Forrest joining the squad for the 2019-20 season.

"Quinton is a veteran, strong forward that's going to be able to compete on both ends," interim head coach Zac Claus said.  "He can score attacking the basket, rebound the ball and defend multiple positions.

"He has a level of toughness and maturity about him that will help us.  He already has his degree, and will pursue his master's degree here at Idaho."

Forrest, a 6-4 forward from Windermere, Fla., last played for Jacksonville University.  He appeared in 13 games last season while battling through nagging injuries.

Prior to Jacksonville, Forrest was filling up the box score at Bethune Cookman.  As a sophomore, he started 30-of-32 games, and finished third on the team with 12.2 points per game.  He grabbed 5.3 rebounds per contest, the second best mark on the squad, and led the team with 36 steals.  Forrest shot 53.4 percent from the floor as a sophomore, the third best average in the MEAC.

As a freshman, Forrest appeared in 30 games for Bethune Cookman, starting 12.  He averaged 4.9 points and 2.7 rebounds per game, and earned MEAC Rookie of the Week honors three times.  Prior to BCU, Forrest played his high school ball at West Orange, where he earned All-Metro Conference honors as a senior.
