MOSCOW, Idaho – Despite getting down two sets to none, Idaho volleyball (1-2) kept fighting to force a fifth, but ultimately fell to Illinois-Chicago (4-0), 3-2, to close out the Idaho Volleyball Classic.

Debbie Buchanan shook things up for the final match, trying a new starting lineup. The shift paid off, with
Kennedy Warren leading the way in kills with 16.
Rachel Mills, who didn't play the first two sets of the match, notched eight kills on the night.
UIC took the first set, 25-20, then ran away with the second, 25-14. Idaho got out to a dominant lead in the third and was able to hold on at 25-22. The fourth got out to another great start for the Vandals, eventually getting up 13-4, but the Flames fought back to make things interesting. Ultimately, the Vandals would hold on to take the fourth, 32-30.
Idaho got up early in the fifth, but UIC was ready for a comeback. The Flames closed on a 10-3 run to take the fifth, 15-12.
Idaho hits the road next week, heading out to the University of Portland to take on Portland, Utah State and Washington State.
