VANDALS OF THE WEEK:
Charles Akanno of football and
Juliana deTar earn Vandals of the Week after strong performances over the weekend. Akanno recorded career-highs of nine tackles and three pass breakups against No. 11 Eastern Washington on Saturday. He earned STATS LLC FCS National Defensive Player of the Week, Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week and College Sports Madness FCS National Defensive Player of the Week. DeTar netted the game-winner for Idaho in the 89
th minute to take down North Dakota on Sunday.
COMING UP: All the teams are competing in their first Big Sky games of the year. Football is traveling to play Northern Colorado on Saturday. The soccer team has two home games this week, Friday against Montana at 7 p.m. and Sunday against Northern Colorado at 1 p.m. The volleyball team is competing at home Thursday versus Portland State at 6 p.m. and at home Saturday against Sacramento State at 1 p.m. The women's swim and dive team will be having its first meets this weekend, Friday at Washington State at 5 p.m. and Saturday at home at 10 a.m. The women's golf team is competing at the Coeur D'Alene Resort Collegiate Invitational Monday and Tuesday all day. The cross country team will be attending the Bill Dellinger Invitational at the University of Oregon on Saturday.
FOOTBALL: The Vandals dominated Eastern Washington last Saturday, taking the win 35-27.

VOLLEYBALL: The Vandal volleyball team competed in the Grand Canyon University tournament this last weekend going 1-2 overall including a win over Omaha.
SOCCER: The women's soccer team played Thursday against Oregon State, falling 2-1, and Sunday against North Dakota, earning the 2-1 win.
MEN'S TENNIS: Men's tennis opened the season at Eastern Washington, taking on EWU and Gonzaga. Francisco Bascon – Perez was the star of the weekend, going 6-0 combined between singles and doubles.
MEN'S GOLF: Men's golf got competition started at the Husky Invitational, but play was cut short early due to inclement weather.
WOMEN'S GOLF: The squad took 12
th at the WSU Cougar Cup last week at Palouse Ridge Golf Course.
