COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho – Idaho women's golf tied for eighth at the Coeur d'Alene Resort Collegiate Invitational, shooting a final-round 316 Tuesday, due in part to a disqualification from an invalid scorecard. Sophomore
Vicky Tsai was the low Vandal for the second consecutive tournament. Tsai finished in a tie for 14th at 8-over.
Valeria Patino was originally reported to tie for third at 3-over for the tournament, including an even-par 71 in the final round. A few hours later, Patino was disqualified for an invalid scorecard. The change added 10 strokes to Idaho's team score, taking the Vandals from a fifth-place tie to an eighth-place tie.
Idaho was tied for second after two strong rounds on the first day of competition. Tsai, Patino and
Danika Palm each recorded an even-par round on the day.
Eddie Hsu carded the best countable final-round score by a Vandal with a 6-over 77.
After three straight weeks in action to start the season, the Vandals will get back to the practice course for a week before returning to competition Oct. 8 and 9, at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational in Seattle.
