MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho soccer suffered its third straight loss on Sunday, falling to UC Santa Barbara, 3-0, in the Kibbie Dome. Idaho falls to 2-4-0 on the season with just four games remaining in non-conference play.
The opening minutes were unkind to the Vandals again on Sunday, with the Gauchos breaking through in the 10
th minute to get things started. Dylan Lewis came in down the right side and got the low cross in to the feet of Jessica Wright who took a touch and fired into the back of the net. UCSB would double its advantage less than four minutes later. Christine Maurer picked up the ball outside the top of the Vandal box and fired, hitting the inside of the post before ending up in the net.
UCSB scored its third in the 20
th minute. Emma Vanderhyden sent in a perfect free kick, and Shaelan Murison finished with a great header.
Idaho was outshot on the day, 6-4. The Gauchos committed 12 fouls to just six by Idaho.
