MOSCOW, Idaho – The University of Idaho Track & Field program is excited to announce the addition of Prabhasha Wickramaarachchi of Walnut Grove Secondary in Langley, British Columbia, Canada. Prabhasha is a very talented hurdler and jumper who also competes for Universal Athletics Club.
Prabhasha is one of the top track & field athletes in British Columbia and one of the top 400m hurdlers in all of Canada. She is a three-time Fraser Valley Champion, the largest and most competitive zone in the province. Last spring, she finished second in both the 400m hurdles and in the long jump at the British Columbia High School Championships, she was also a member of a second place 4x100m relay team and a first place 4x400m relay team. Her efforts helped amass 32 points, which pushed her team to win the Senior Girls Championship banner.
Prabhasha was awarded the Universal Athletics Most Improved Athlete award for the 2019 season. She has personal bests of 63.37 in the 400m hurdles and 17 feet 1 inches in the long jump.
