MOSCOW, Idaho – The Vandal Rewind series continues on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 12 p.m. Pacific with Idaho football's 2016 matchup with UNLV. Idaho had high hopes for the 2016 season but needed a win at UNLV to avoid falling into a 1-3 hole to start the year. Despite entering the game as heavy underdogs, the Vandals scored early and often to keep their Mountain West foes at bay.
 
The fans got what they paid for. Idaho did not trail in regulation, but UNLV was never far behind. The Vandal defense got the job done in the overtime period, leading to an incredible finish from Matt Linehan and the offense.
 
Sophomore linebacker, and future National Football League draft pick, Kaden Elliss had two interceptions, including one he returned for a touchdown. Fellow sophomore, Ed Hall, picked up 15 total tackles.
