MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho Vandals meet the Washington State Cougars for the Battle of the Palouse on Wednesday evening in Pullman. The game will begin at 6 p.m.

SCOUTING THE COUGARS (3-0): WSU has begun the season 3-0, beating Texas Southern, Eastern Washington, and Oregon State. They are receiving votes in the AP Top-25.
In their last game, the Cougars defeated the Beavers, 59-55. Four players scored in double figures, led by Isaac Bonton who had 15 to go along with seven assists, four rebounds, and three steals.
As a team, WSU is scoring 62.0 ppg while allowing 58.3 ppg. Bonton is leading the squad scoring 18.0 ppg, while Noah Williams (10.3 ppg) also averages double figure scoring.
SCOUTING THE VANDALS (0-2, 0-2 BSC): Idaho fell in a pair of games to Sacramento State to open the season.
Scott Blakney leads the Vandals scoring 12.0 ppg.
DeAndre Robinson is pulling down a team-high 5.0 rebounds per game.
LAST TIME OUT: The Vandals fell to Sacramento State, 73-57. Blakney had 12 points to lead the way, while Robinson scored 10 points and pulled down five boards.
SERIES HISTORY: This will be the 116th year in which the Vandals and Cougs will meet. WSU leads the all-time series, 165-110.
SENIOR LEADERSHIP
The Vandals have a group of five seniors to lead them in a strange 2020-21 season.
Chance Garvin is in his fifth year with the Idaho program.
Scott Blakney is a fourth year senior.Â

Ja'Vary Christmas, and
Babacar Thiombane are all in their second years with the Vandals, but all have turned into leaders on the team.
NEWCOMERS
The Vandals welcome five newcomers to the 2020-21 squad.

Hunter-Jack Madden, and
Ethan Kilgore are the three freshman this season.Â

Kendall McHugh join the Vandals as transfers.
LATE START
Idaho opened the season on December 3 this year. This is the first time the Vandals began play in the month of December since the 1976-77 season, when they lost to USC on December 1. This is the latest opening game for Idaho since a December 3 win over Long Beach State in 1962.
SIGNED
Two players have signed to join the Vandals next season. RJ Walker is from Decatur, Ill. He is a guard who averaged 17 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 3.5 spg, and 3.2 apg his junior season. Yusef Salih, from Richmond, Va., averaged 14.5 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 4.1 apg, and 2.3 steals per game in 2019-20. He was named First Team All-Conference.
