MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho swim and dive celebrated senior day with a big win on Friday, taking down conference foe New Mexico State, 172-126. The Vandals said goodbye to eight seniors, who were swimming at home for the final time.

Idaho got out to a great start with a win in the 200-yard medley.Â
Kaling Phung,
Aimee Iwamoto,
Rylie Jones and
Katie Hale earned the win in 1:45.12.

Iwamoto earned two individual wins as well. She won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:05.39, and the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:21.75.

Phung, Jones and Hale also took individual wins. Phung won the 100-yard backstroke in 57.57 seconds, and Hale won the 50-yard freestyle in 23.54 seconds. Jones took first in the 100-yard fly in 56.54 seconds.

Heather Carbon won both the 1-meter and 3-meter dive competitions.

Brianna Lucien and
Alexa Teneyck went 1-2 in the distance events, with each getting a win. Teneyck came out on top in the 1000-yard free, in 10:25.71, while Lucien won the 500-free in 5:13.04.

Haylee Buyers earned two wins. She first won the 200-yard backstroke in 2:07.56, then finished first in the 400-yard individual medley in 4:38.84.Â
Alexis Schmidt won the 200-yard butterfly in 2:07.05.

Next up for the Vandals are the WAC Championships, in Houston later this month.
