MOSCOW, Idaho – The University of Idaho Track & Field program is thrilled to announce the commitment of Ellie Grant of Snohomish High School in Snohomish, Wash.

Ellie has been a state meet placer and all-state jumper at the Washington State Track & Field Championships in the high jump and triple jump. She placed third in the triple jump at the state meet as a junior in 2019 while also finishing ninth in the high jump. She qualified for the state meet as a sophomore and placed 10th in the high jump.

She has personal bests of 37' 4.5" in the triple jump, 5' 4" in the high jump, and 16' 6.5" in the long jump. She was poised to make big improvements across all her event areas before the 2020 track & field season was canceled.

Ellie has been an active leader in both athletics and academics at Snohomish High School. She has served as the National Honor Society Secretary and Key Club Vice President. Ellie was voted as the most inspirational athlete on her team as well.

"We are excited to have Ellie join the Vandal family. She is a well-rounded and talented jumper with a lot of room to grow. She is also great in the classroom and should fit in well with the team," said Tim Cawley, Director of Track & Field/Cross Country.
