Vandal Hoops Adds Robinson to Complete Signing Class

MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho men's basketball has announced the signing of DeAndre Robinson to complete the recruiting class.

"DeAndre is a young man that we are very excited to add to our program.  He brings a level of maturity and toughness, along with the ability to score both inside and out that we were looking for," said head coach Zac Claus. "He has proven that he can perform at a high level and we expect him to do great things both on the court and in the classroom."

Robinson is a 6-6 forward from Monroeville, Alabama. He played the 2019-20 season at Tallahassee Community College where he averaged 3.0 points per game while dealing with an early season injury. The Eagles won 27 games and were set to enter the National Tournament with the #12 seed prior to its cancellation.

"DeAndre was the consummate student-athlete during his time at Tallahassee. He is a diligent student, tremendous teammate, and one of the most skilled offensive players on one of the most talented and successful Tallahassee teams in history," said TCC head coach Zach Settembre. "His skill set fits the Big Sky perfectly, and his commitment to doing things the right way will make him an impressive representation of Idaho basketball."

Robinson played his freshman season at Wheeling University, averaging 14.1 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. He recorded season highs of 33 points, 18 rebounds, and nine assists. He shot 53 percent from the field, 48 percent from beyond the arc, and 76 percent from the free throw line.

Robinson attended high school at Monroe County High School, helping lead the team to Alabama's Class 4A State Championship game as a senior in 2017. He scored 34 points in the championship game. He garnered Second Team All-State honors for his performance that year.

DeAndre is the son of Belinda and James White.

He joins Hunter Madden, Kendall McHugh, Ethan Kilgore, and Tanner Christensen in the 2020 class. Christensen previously signed with Idaho before departing for his LDS mission following high school in 2018, while Kilgore signed in November and Madden and McHugh signed in April.
