BIG SKY RELEASE

FARMINGTON, Utah – The annual Big Sky Conference Football Kickoff has been moved up to Thursday, July 23 and Friday, July 24. This year's event was recorded through Zoom in advance, using questions provided through social media. The event gets started at 9 a.m. Pacific on PlutoTV channel 531 both days. More specific information on the start times for Petrino and Elliss will be provided when available.
 
Idaho head coach, Paul Petrino, will be part of the fourth and final group of head coaches on Thursday morning. Each group of coaches is expected to take approximately 30 minutes. Petrino, joined by Eastern Washington's Aaron Best and Cal Poly's Beau Baldwin, is expected to begin at approximately 11:15 a.m. Pacific.
 
Senior linebacker Christian Elliss will be Idaho's lone student-athlete representative. Elliss is joined by EWU's Eric Barriere, Weber State's Josh Davis and Cal Poly's Matt Shotwell, and will be featured in the third group of student-athletes. Elliss's section is expected to begin after 10:30 a.m. Pacific.
 
The Football Kickoff will begin with the State of the Big Sky address from Big Sky Commissioner Tom Wistrcill at 9 a.m. Pacific on Thursday. Preseason polls, both by the coaches and the media, will be released on Thursday morning and the preseason All-Big Sky team will be released on Friday morning.
 
The Vandals return the majority of their defense in 2020, including both Elliss and Tre Walker who were selected as HERO Sports Preseason All-Big Sky honorees. Idaho has five all-conference selections from a year ago returning, including two All-Americans from 2019.
