SCHEDULE
MOSCOW, Idaho - The University of Idaho's men's golf team is back in action this Spring after a suspended 2020 season, starting in early February.
The Vandals will tee off their Spring season with a trip to Fresno, Calif., for the Nick Watney Invitational February 8-9. The two-day tournament will be hosted by Fresno state and played at the Sunnyside Country Club.
The Vandals will head back down to the sunshine for the Joust at Goose Creek, hosted by California Baptist University. The tournament will be held February 22-23 and played at the Goose Creek Golf Club to wrap up the February schedule.
"We cannot wait to get this spring season started," said head coach
David Nuhn. "To be able to get going with a couple events in the warmth of sunny California before we move north into Oregon and Washington in March is really nice for us."Â
The Vandals will kick off the month of March by hosting the Bandon Dunes Championship March 7-9 in Bandon, Ore. The three-day tournament will be held at the Bandon Trials Golf Course.
"Hosting the Bandon Dunes Championship is a truly unique opportunity that we are blessed to have," said coach Nuhn. "We host a diverse mix of teams from across six conferences at one of the most amazing golf facilities in the world!"Â
The Vandals will have back-to-back weeks of competition to close out the month of March. They will first travel to Eugene for the Duck Invitational, March 22-23 at the Eugene Country Club, hosted by the University of Oregon. A week later, the Vandals will be back in action for the Redhawk Invitational on the 29-30. The Redhawk Invitational will be hosted by Seattle University at Chambers Bay in University Place.
The Vandals will have one more opportunity to prepare for the Big Sky Championship. The Wyoming Cowboy Classic will be held April 5-6 in Chandler, Ariz. The two-day competition will be hosted by Wyoming and played on the Whirlwind Golf Course.
"Our schedule should be a great preparation for the Big Sky Championship in late April. That is always the focus, being as prepared as possible to win that conference title," Nuhn added.Â
The Big Sky Championship takes place April 25-27 and will be played on Boulder Creek Golf Course in Boulder City, Nev.
The NCAA Regionals in May have yet to be determined. The NCAA National Championship will be held on May 28 and run through June 2 at the Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
