SCHEDULE
Â
MOSCOW, Idaho – The University of Idaho's women's golf is set to tee of their Spring season in early February after a suspended 2020 season.
Â
After a second place ranking in the pre-season polls, the team starts off with a trip down to the Lone Star State for the Texas State Invitational February 8-9. This two-day tournament will be hosted by Texas State University at Plum Creek Golf Course.
Â
"We always like being ranked near the top but they are just pre-season rankings," said head coach
Lisa Ferrero. "We have a lot of work to do to accomplish our goals."
Â
Heading into a busy March, the Vandals will compete in the Grand Canyon University Invitational down in Phoenix, Ariz. The tournament will be held March 1-2 and played on the Grand Canyon University Golf Course. Just a week later, the team will chase the sunshine and travel to Kailua, Hawaii for the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational. The two-day tournament will run on March 9-10 and played on the Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course.
Â
To close out the month of March, the Vandals will take on the March Red Rocks Invitational, hosted by Northern Arizona University March 20-21. The tournament will be played at the Oakcreek Country Club in Sedona, Ariz.
Â
The final opportunity to prepare for the Big Sky Championship will come in early April, as the Vandals will compete in the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic April 5-6. The two-day competition will be hosted by Wyoming and played on the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Course.
Â
"I really like our schedule for the spring, said coach Ferrero. "We added a few new events, and it will allow the team to play against teams they may not normally get to play. It also allows us to play different courses and in all different weather. Just competing again and having a full spring schedule will prepare us for conference. We will take the good things from every event and work on the things that we may need to practice more."
Â
The Big Sky Championship will run on April 19-21, and played in Molalla, Ore.
Â
After a season cut short, the Vandals are set for a busy Spring schedule. Recaps following the conclusion of each round will be posted at
Govandals.com. Live results will be available at
golfstat.com during each round of play.
