MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho (0-13, 0-10 BSC) men's basketball team fell, 81-62, to Weber State (9-4, 4-2 BSC) on Saturday afternoon.
THE GAME
The Vandals opened the game on a 7-0 run, with
Gabe Quinnett scoring five quick points to begin. However, the Wildcats responded with an 11-0 run to take the lead. With 12:42 to play,
Scott Blakney scored on a spin move, and Idaho trailed by one, 15-14. The visitors went on another 11-0 run to take a double-digit advantage. At the break, Weber State led Idaho, 45-35.

The Wildcats kept the momentum coming out of the locker room and scored the first eight points of the half. A 9-2 Vandal run, sparked by six straight points from freshman
Ethan Kilgore, brought the home side within 10, 58-48, with 9:25 to play. But Idaho was unable to close the gap, and WSU extended their lead back out, ultimately winning, 81-62.

THE NOTES
Tanner Christensen started his first career game. He finished with eight points and four rebounds. He also had one assists and one steal.

Ja'vary Christmas dished out five assists. He has now tallied at least four assists in six different games.

Damen Thacker had a career-high four steals in the game. He also dished out four assists while scoring five points and pulling down two boards.

The Vandals were edged in rebounds, 31-30. Idaho scored 11 second chance points while the Wildcats had eight.

Idaho shot 43.9 percent (25-for-57) from the floor, while WSU was 29-for-55 (52.7 percent).

The Vandals were 7-for-19 (36.8 percent) from beyond the arc, while the Wildcats were 10-for-21 (47.6 percent).

The Vandals were 5-for-9 (55.6 percent) from the line. The Wildcats were 13-for-14 (92.9 percent) from the free throw line.

Damen Thacker was 2-for-2 from the free throw line and has now made his last 31 foul shots. He is shooting 94.1 percent on the year which is the best in the conference and top-10 nationally.

THE NAME
Gabe Quinnett. Quinnett led the Vandals with 13 points. It was the second consecutive game the sophomore led the team in scoring. Quinnett was 3-for-6 from beyond the arc and also dished one assist and had one rebound in a team-high 34 minutes played.
