PORTLAND, Oregon - Idaho's women's soccer team endured a physical game against Portland State Sunday afternoon. Following an overtime goal by Portland off of a penalty kick, the Vandals fell, 2-3.
During the first half, Idaho took a total of five shots and walked away with two goals. First up was
Hannah Alfaro's goal in the 23rd minute.
Shortly after in the 26th minute, Ariel Lofton scored into the top of the goal following a freekick by
Alyssa Peters.
In the second half, Portland State tied up the game with a comeback of two goals. The first was scored by Abi Hoffman in the 47th minute, and the second by Chloe Huling in the 58th minute.
Finally, in the first half of overtime and the 94th minute, Portland's Sienna Higinbotham scored the team's third and final goal of the game, allowing Portland the win.
The Vandals are now 8-4-2 for the season, and 2-3-1 for conference play.
Next Friday, October 15, Idaho will be facing Montana's Grizzlies in the Kibbie Dome. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
