MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho men's basketball has announced the addition of Nigel Burris who will join the Vandals' squad for the 2022-23 season.
"Nigel has a wonderful combination of skill set and length that we have been in search of in a big way," head coach Zac Claus said. "Couple that with his defensive prowess and ability to rebound the basketball, we believe that Nigel brings to the table what we need."
Burris, a 6-7 forward from San Francisco, CA, is currently enrolled at Golden State Prep, a post-graduate school in Napa, California.
Before playing prep basketball, Burris suited up for Archbishop Mitty High School for two seasons. He helped lead the basketball program to two WCAL league championships and two Central Coast Section championships, combining for a 40-6 record.
The three-star power forward (247 Sports) averaged 13.8 points and 6.6 rebounds per game in his senior season. He scored 28 points, including 17 in the first quarter of the 2021 CCS Open Division semifinal.
Burris competed on the AAU circuit for Team WhyNot who received an invite to the Nike Peach Jam.
Academically, Burris graduated from Archbishop Mitty High School in the spring of 2021 with a 3.26 GPA
Nigel is the son of Damon and Tracy Burris.
