Moscow, Idaho -- The Idaho volleyball team fell in four sets to Northern Colorado (21-25, 19-25, 25-21,16-25) at Memorial Gym on Saturday night.
Delaney Nicoll led the way for the Vandals, recording 15 kills on the offensive end and 15 digs on defense. Senior Nikki Ball supplied nine kills and hit a team high .318 percent while teammate Allison Munday added nine more kills for Idaho.
The Vandals surrendered the first two sets after a strong defensive effort from the Bears that forced Idaho to hit .079 and .024.
Idaho bounced back in set three, forcing Northern Colorado into four attack errors and three service errors. The Vandals hit .394 and served up four aces to earn the 25-21 victory.
Northern Colorado returned with an efficient performance in set four, proving to be to much for a Vandal comeback as the Bears earned the match win, 25-16.
Idaho had an impressive night at the net on defense, earning 18 total blocks to the Bears 12. Northern Colorado totaled 57 kills and forced the Vandals into 22 attack errors to earn the victory.
Following the match, seniors Nikki Ball, Peyten Ely, Alaina Lacey, Rachel Mills and Becca Owen were honored in their last match at Memorial Gym.
