FARMINGTON, Utah - Roshaun Johnson scored a school-record six touchdowns and ran for a career-high 174 yards to lead the Vandals to a 42-24 win over Southern Utah. For his efforts, he was named the ROOT SPORTS Big Sky Football Offensive Player of the Week.
Â
Johnson carried the ball 30 times for an average of 5.8 yards per carry. He didn't have a negative play all game.
Â
The six touchdowns broke the school record and came one shy of tying the Big Sky record for most rushing TDs in a game by a single player. It is also the most touchdowns this season by any player in the FCS or FBS.
Â
Following the game, he gave all the credit to the offensive line in the press conference.
Â
"The offensive line is going to get all the love and the praise from me because they're not in here doing the press conference like they should be," Johnson continued. "Those guys are the real heroes of the team. I am going to bring them donuts tomorrow to thank them."
Â
A man of his word, he walked into the Kibbie Dome for Sunday's meetings with three-dozen donuts and brought them straight to the o-line meeting room.
Â
The Vandals are on the road this Saturday against Montana State before closing the season at Idaho State on Nov. 20.
