Vandals take on Eastern Washington in Weekend Series

MOSCOW, Idaho —Idaho volleyball continues Big Sky play this week, returning to the road after a quick home stint. Idaho dropped a two-game series at home to Montana State falling to 5-7 overall and 4-6 in Big Sky Play.

The Vandals will head to Cheney for a two-game series against Eastern Washington beginning today at 4 p.m.

This is the fourth Big Sky road series of the season for the Vandals as they sit at seventh place in the conference standings, two games ahead of the Eagles. The conference tournament will begin on Mar. 31 in Greeley, CO. with the top eight teams.

Montana State swept the Vandals 3-0 in game one, but the Vandals fought back in game two, coming up just short 3-2.  

Montana State is 5-8 overall and 4-8 in Big Sky play. At home the Eagles are 5-2. The Eagles enter the contest on a two-game losing streak after dropping a series to Sacramento State.

Idaho continues to lead the Big Sky in blocks this season having totaled 141 on the year. The Vandals averaged a league-high 2.71 blocks per set. Nikki Ball leads the Vandals in blocking and is second in the Big Sky with 1.39 blocks per set.

SERIES HISTORY/LAST MEETING: Idaho and Eastern Washington played each other twice last season with the Vandals winning both contests. Idaho is 53-31 all-time against Eastern Washington.
