SEDONA, Ariz. – The Vandals wrapped up the third and final round at the Oakcreek Country Club on Tuesday, holding onto a 9
th place. Individually, graduate student
Laura Gerner led the Vandals as she finished in a tie for 27
th through 36 holes.

"We need to play better," said head coach
Lisa Ferrero. "We have not played like we are capable of playing and we need to step up in the next event. I'm glad we have a month to practice and prepare."

Since her first round, Gerner made a two-stroke improvement and continued on that pace through the third round. In her final round, Gerner caught fire on the back nine, carding an even score and tallied two birdies within that stretch. Gerner finished in a tie for 27
th and a score of 14-over, 230.

On stroke behind came junior
Valeria Patino. After going 2-over in the frint nine and 3-over in back, Patino finished in a tie for 33
rd with a total score 15-over, 231. The best round of the tournament came from
Vicky Tsai in the third round, carding a 2-over, 74. Tsai finished in a tie for 47
th with a three-round score of 16-over, 232. Graduate student
Jaime Bellingham and junior
Eddie Hsu both carded a 21-over, 237, and tied for 56
th at the conclusion of the final round.

Grand Canyon won the first-place tie breaker with Gonzaga to claim first place at the Red Rocks. Individually, Payton Fehringer from GCU held on to win first place with a score of 8-under, 208.

The Vandals will be back on the course for the Cowgirl Classic on Monday April 5
th and will run through Tuesday April 6
th.
