MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho men's basketball has announced the signing of Nolan Bertain, a graduate transfer.

Zac Claus. "We are confident that he will have a positive impact from day one and we can't wait to get him on campus. This is a good day for Idaho basketball."

Bertain, a 6-4 guard from Portland, Oregon, played the last two years at Texas A&M – Corpus Christi. As a senior, Bertain played in all 24 games, starting 17 for the Islanders. He averaged 8.5 points per game and 2.3 rebounds per game. He made a team-high 48 three-pointers, shooting at a clip of 43.2 percent from beyond the arc. His junior season, Bertain made 19 starts and appeared in 26 games scoring 6.4 ppg.

Bertain began his collegiate career at Casper Junior College where he averaged 14.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game, shooting 47.8 percent from the field and 45.3 percent from beyond the arc. He was the leading scorer for a squad that finished the season 22-10.

A Pacific Northwest native, Bertain was a three-time All-League performer at West Linn High School in Portland. He helped lead the team to league titles during his sophomore and junior seasons and went on to average 18.0 ppg his senior year.

Bertain is the son of Cheri and Len Bertain.
