BOULDER CITY, Nev. – The University of Idaho men's golf team made a 17-stroke improvement in the second round, helping the team move up to 3
rd place on the leaderboard. As a team, the Vandals have a total score of 11-over over with one round remaining at the Big Sky Championships on Tuesday.

"The team played a solid round of golf today," said head coach
David Nuhn. "We adjusted our misses and putted better today on the greens. Excited for tomorrow's final round and going to be looking to apply some early pressure to the leaders and see what happens."

Freshman
Jose Suryadinata remained in the top-10 after the second round of play on Monday, carding a 3-over, 74. The Freshman of the Year finished his second round strong, as he went even with par on his back nine. Junior
Jack Plaster also slipped into the top-10 after an even, 72 in his second round. Making a seven-stroke improvement from the first round, Plaster also finished his round strong, carding a 2-under on the back nine. Plaster and Suryadinata are tied for 8
th place heading into the final 18 holes of play.

Two strokes back came graduate student
Sean Mullan. The First Team All-Big Sky selection improved by five strokes in the second round, firing in two birdies on the day. Mullan's second round score of 1-over, 73 advanced him into a tie for 14
th place on the individual leaderboard. Not far behind Mullan came juniors
Colt Sherrell and
Joel Veenstra. Sherrell also saw a five-stroke improvement in the second round, carding three birdies in his second 18 holes of play. Veenstra made the biggest improvement for the Vandals, making a nine-stroke improvement as he carded a 1-under, 72. Sherrell and Veenstra are now tied for 17
th with a total score of 9-over, 153.

The third and final round will begin Tuesday morning with a shotgun start.
