MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho men's basketball has announced the signing of Philip Pepple, Jr., a transfer from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

Zac Claus. "We welcome Philip to Idaho basketball and can't wait to watch his success on the court and in the classroom. Today is another good day for the Vandals."

Pepple, a 6-10 forward, played last season for the Cougars of SIUE where he averaged 7.8 points per game and 5.0 rebounds per game. Against LSU, Pepple had a double-double, scoring 13 points and pulling down 10 boards. Five of his rebounds came on the offensive glass and he also blocked two shots in the game. Â

Pepple began his collegiate career at Casper College in Casper, Wyoming. He was part of a Thunderbirds squad which won 57 games during his two seasons. As a sophomore, he averaged 12.1 points per game and 8.4 rebounds per game. He also blocked 2.9 shots per game which ranked sixth in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I. He tallied double digit rebounds in 11 games, all of which were double-doubles. Â

A native of Shoreline, Washington, Pepple will be making a return to the pacific northwest. He was All-State his senior year at Shorecrest High School and averaged 22 ppg and 11 rpg.

Pepple is the son of Naomi Pepple.
