COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Idaho closed out competition at the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships Preliminary Round on Saturday afternoon with
Malaina Thacker and
Tayler LyDay in action.
LyDay competed in the triple jump, placing 32nd with a mark of 12.53m/41'1.5". She entered the West Prelims ranked 46th in the region.
Thacker took seventh in her 3k steeplechase heat with a personal best 10:10.04. Overall, she had the 17th best time of the day after entering Saturday 25th in the West. That time is the third best time in Vandal history.
After a successful competition in which several Vandals beat their ranks, the season will conclude with
Zack Short participating in the shot put at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore., on June 9.
