MOSCOW, Idaho –

Swenson recently completed her sophomore season with the Vandals while majoring in English-Professional Writing with a minor in Biology. The Oregon native competed in the 2019 NCAA Cross Country Regionals and placed 2nd in the 2020 Big Sky Indoor 5,000m Championships. Swenson was named Freshman of the Year during her first indoor season. Swenson is a two-time Big Sky All-Academic honoree and earned a 4.0 grade point average this past spring semester with a 3.93 cumulative GPA.

The Mississippi native completed his B.S. in Architecture this past December and is a Big Sky All-Academic honoree. Hoover earned Second Team All-Big Sky for the 2021 season, led the team his junior season breaking up 10 passes, and earned Big Sky Player of the Week during his sophomore campaign. He also led the team's secondary his freshman year with 48 tackles. Hoover has earned a 3.6 cumulative grade point average.
As always, both student-athletes were thankful for the opportunity to speak on being a student as well as an athlete.
"I think it is a big honor to be recognized," said Swenson. "This team means a lot to me, and I'm just really honored. I think that academics is a really big part of being on a team. I'm so inspired by my teammates and what they are doing in the classroom. It is really exciting.
"It great just knowing that your hard work is recognized," said Hoover. "Not only on the field but also in the classroom. We are student-athletes but we have to do the student part as well."
