BIG SKY RELEASE
FARMINGTON, Utah – The University of Idaho placed 81 student-athletes on the 2020-21 Big Sky Fall All-Academic Teams, as announced by the league offices on Wednesday.
The women's outdoor track and field team had 31 student-athletes earn a spot on the team to lead the way for the Vandals.
Nathalia Campos,
Hannah Ringel, and
Malaina Thacker received the accolade for a fourth time.
The men's outdoor track and field team had 23 placed on the All-Academic Team.
Cole Alteneder,
Spencer Barrera,
Ben Doucette,
Britt Ipsen,
Ryan Kline,
Grady Leonard,
Zachary Nunis,
Caleb Seely,
Ben Shaw,
Zack Short, and
Tim Stevens all earned the accolade for at least the second time.
The men's golf team put eight on the team.
T.J. Patterson,
Jack Plaster, and
Colt Sherrell all earned the honor for the second team.
On the women's golf team, five Vandals earned a spot, with
Laura Gerner making it for the third time and
Grace Frazier qualifying for the second time.
Seven Vandals were placed on the men's tennis team including
Bruno Casino who earned a spot for the third time.
The women's tennis team also had seven earn a spot.
Maggie Chen,
Nicole Horacek, Marta Margalhaes, and
Laura Spataro are all multi-year members of the All-Academic Team.
The full list of honorees is below. To be eligible for recognition, a student-athlete must carry at least a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale) be on an active roster, and competed at least one term at the institution.
