MOSCOW, Idaho – Dwain Stucker of Vandal track and field/cross country and Kathryn Blickenstaff of Idaho soccer have been named this week's Vandals of the Week for their outstanding work in the classroom.

Stucker is a graduate student on the track and field team. He completed his bachelor's in mechanical engineering in 2020 and is now pursuing his master's degree in mechanical engineering. Stucker is a three-time participant in NCAA Cross Country Regionals and placed fifth in the 10k and eighth in the 5k at the 2019 Big Sky Outdoor Championships. He has a 3.57 cumulative GPA.  

"I've been really fortunate to be able to go to U of I for as long as I have," said Stucker. "I've learned so much and have gained valuable experience in how to intensively research and study. Idaho has helped me become a better student of life and I appreciate that."

Blickenstaff, a senior on the soccer team, is from Boise, Idaho. She is majoring in English with an emphasis in professional writing and minoring in Spanish. On the field, she started every game in defense, playing all but eight minutes of the season. She helped anchor the defense which had four clean sheets in the 2021 spring season. She is a two-time Big Sky All-Academic honoree with a 3.63 cumulative GPA.

"You're a student-athlete. The student part is really important and at the end of the day, the education you get while you're here is what you're going to need for the rest of your life," said Blickenstaff.
