BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Hayden Hatten caught ten passes for 94 yards and two touchdowns and
Charles Akanno notched three tackles for loss, including a sack, but a series of special teams miscues doomed Idaho football and the Vandals fell 56-14 on the road against Indiana.
The Hoosiers hit the scoreboard first with a TD late in the first quarter, but a fumble on the ensuing drive set up another Indiana touchdown and a blocked punt on the ensuing possession led to a quick 21-0 lead.
Indiana added two touchdowns in the second quarter before the Vandals answered. Idaho drove 75 yards in eight plays capped by a 16-yard pass from
Mike Beaudry to Hatten to set the halftime score at 35-7.
The Hoosiers added a touchdown early in the third quarter after a big kickoff return to start the second half before the Vandals went 75 yards on 11 plays capped by another Beaudry to Hatten score. This time a 23-yard strike to the back of the endzone.
Idaho finished with 261 yards of offense, including 196 in the air. The Vandal defense held Indiana to 328 yards of offense.
