Brookings S.D. – Idaho Vandal Volleyball picked up a thrilling 26-24, 25-20, 11-25, 17-25 15-11 win over Southeastern Louisiana State to close out the Jackrabbit Classic hosted by South Dakota State Saturday in Brookings.

The Vandals picked up wins in the first two sets, grabbing 14 kills in both sets while recording three blocks in the first set and four in the second.

The Lions rallied in the third and the fourth to tie the match at two sets apiece.

Southeastern Louisiana jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but the Vandals rallied to tie the set at 4-4. The two teams then went point for point until it was again tied at 10-10.

Idaho closed the match on a 5-1 run, including three consecutive kills to close out the win.

Delaney Nicoll tallied 20 kills to just three errors to lead the Idaho offense. She also tallied 12 digs and three blocks. Allison Munday added 18 kills and five blocks.

Peyton Ely tallied 43 assists in the match.

Nicoll was named to the all-tournament after recording 29 kills, 27 digs and six blocks on the weekend. 

The win improves the Vandals record to 3-6 on the year. The Vandals open Big Sky Conference play at Northern Arizona on Sept. 23.
