OGDEN, Utah – Idaho fell, 2-1, to Weber State in double overtime on Friday evening. The Vandals' very own,
Sidney Schmidt, scored first, but the Wildcats' second goal in overtime finished the game.
The first 30 minutes of the game were a back-and-forth battle between Idaho and the Wildcats. Following a throw in near the goal box in the 37th minute, Schmidt fired into the low right corner, scoring her first goal of the season, assisted by
Rebekah Reyes. Despite five shots on goal throughout the game, this would be the Vandals' last finish of the night.
Weber State scored their first goal to tie up the game in the 54th minute. The remainder of the half was another fair back-and-forth competition between the two teams.
Idaho kicked off the first half of overtime and a very physical ten minutes ensued.
In the 103rd minute of the second half of overtime, the Wildcats' Taylor Slack scored into the low left of the goal, ending the game.
Schmidt now joins a total of eight Vandals that have scored this season.
The loss drops Idaho to 6-2-1 on the year.
