MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho women's soccer team is set to host Hawaii on Wednesday, Sept. 8. The Vandals are 3-1 on the season and look to stay perfect at home.Â

SCOUTING THE VANDALS (2-1)
Idaho began the season 2-0, with a pair of 1-0 wins over North Dakota State and University of North Dakota. Most recently, the Vandals beat CSU Bakersfield 4-1, with single goals scored by
Maddy Lasher and
Leiden Huber, and two goals scored by
Julia Bailey.Â
SCOUTING THE BOWS (0-3-1)
The Bows opened the season with a 0-0 tie to North Texas. The team then went on a losing streak, losing 1-0 against South Dakota State, 5-0 to Gonzaga, and 7-0 to Washington State. The Bows did not have a season during the 2020-21 year, but were 6-8-4 in 2019.Â
SERIES HISTORY
The Bows lead the all-time series, 5-3. The teams last met in 2017. Idaho won the match 1-0 in the Kibbie Dome.

BEST START
Idaho began the 2021 season 2-0 with wins over North Dakota State and the University of North Dakota.
This was the first time the Vandals started a season 2-0 since 2007. That year the team beat Gonzaga, 2-0, to open the season and then defeated Southern Utah, 2-0.Â
EXHIBITION
The Vandals played two preseason games in preparation for the 2021 season. Idaho traveled to Seattle University to play the Redhawks before hosting an exhibition Battle of the Palouse with Washington State traveling to the Kibbie Dome.
PRESEASON PREDICTIONS
The Vandals were selected to finish fourth by the Big Sky coaches.Â
NEW YEAR
Idaho welcomes 10 newcomers to the squad this fall. Nine freshmen join the team while one transfer is now a Vandal.
Three games into the season, five new Vandals have seen the playing field.Â

Twenty-two letterwinners return to the Vandal squad this year.Â
Returning to anchor the back line is graduate student
Taylor Brust, who was named to the All-Big Sky Second Team last season.Â
Also returning is
Margo Schoesler who earned All-Big Sky Honorable Mention accolades last season after scoring two goals as a freshman.Â

After the welcoming the Bows from Hawaii, the Vandals will hit the road to meet the University of Nevada's Wolf Pack on Sunday, September 12. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. (noon).
