Vandal Alum Blaser Qualifies for Olympics

MOSCOW, Idaho - Former Vandal Andrew Blaser will compete at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing, China for Team USA in the Skeleton events.    

Blaser is the sole U.S. men's skeleton slider headed into the Games and is the top ranked American man.   

Blaser raced most of the season on the Intercontinental Cup tour and was called up to the World Cup during the holiday break. He convincingly earned his spot, finishing 172points ahead of the next ranked American and is now ranked 28th in the world.     

Blaser graduated from Idaho in 2012. As a vandal, he competed in the pole vault, hurdles and heptathlon. He was a two-time NCAA qualifier and was named first-Team All-WAC eight times earning All-WAC honors 18 total times. Winning WAC titles six times.  

The Winter Olympics are set to begin February 4, 2022.
