MOSCOW, IDAHO. – The Vandal track and field team hosted the Lauren McCluskey Memorial Open and earned 13 first-place finishes in a dominant performance inside the Kibbie Dome.
The Vandals took home seven first-place finishes in the field events and six in the running events.
In the men's 400 meters the Vandals claimed four of the top five places with
Spencer Barrera taking first with a time of 48.63.
Alex Ayers was a half second back to finish second with a time of 49.20,
Cole Alteneder took fourth (50.90) and
Evan Henkel finished fifth (51.29).
The women were just as dominant in the event, claiming five top-7 finishers. Franziska Stöhr won the event with a time of 57.16.
Prabhasha Wickramaraachchi finished second in 57.39,
Camryn Crouch took third with a time of 58.56.
Makenna Schuler took fifth (1L01.50) and
Savannah Pratt took seventh (1:01.90).
Khalil Forehand won the men's 60meter dash with a time of 6.86 seconds.
Olivia Martin took second in the women's 60 meters with a time of 7.72 seconds. Martin also won the 200 meters with a time of 25.68 seconds.
Mika Brouwer took second in the men's 200 meters with a time of 21.68 seconds.
The Vandals went one, two, three in the women's 800 meters.
Elise Abbott won with a time of 2:15.99
Leah Holmgren was just behind to take second (2:16.11) and
Anna Pecha placed third with a time of 2:17.54.
Ben Shaw won the men's 800 meters with a time of 1:55.72.
Shea Mattson took second in 1:56.48 and
Jenner Higgins finished fourth with a time of 1:57.31.
Erica Pecha won the women's mile with a time of 5:16.38 and
Mia Hill took fourth with a time of 5:29. 23.
Grady Leonard had a great day in the throws, claiming wins in both the weight throw (21.22 meters) and the shot put (18.28).
Cullen Williams took second the weight throw (19.23 meters) and
Noah Culbertson places second in the shot put with a throw of 16.50 meters.
Hannah Ringel won the women's shot put with a throw of 15.19 meters.
In the jumps,
Joseph Ruddell won the high jump with a mark of 2.07 meters.
Henrike Fiedler won the women's long jump with a leap of 5.85 meters.
Airiana Dargan took second with a jump of 5.58 meters.
Zachary Nunis won the men's long jump with a jump of 7.44 meters.
Lachlan Smith and Justyn Rogers each jumped 6. 84 meters.
In the women's triple jump, Gréta Kühne and
Arianna Bush both had a jump of 11.05 meters.
The Vandals will be back in action next weekend when they host the Idaho Invitational on Jan. 29. The meet is set to start at 10 a.m. inside the Kibbe Dome
