GREELEY, Colo. -- The Idaho volleyball team (3-16, 0-7 BSC) fell in three sets to Northern Colorado (11-8, 5-3 BSC), 15-25, 21-25, 16-25, Thursday night at Bank of Colorado Arena.
Graduate outside hitter
Allison Munday led the Vandals with 11 kills on .318 hitting, while freshman
Taryn Vrieling added nine kills and five digs. Munday paced the Silver and Gold on defense, finishing the match with five blocks to her credit.Â
Senior setter
Hailey Pelton logged her fourth-consecutive 20+ assist match, recording 22 to lead Idaho. Colorado native
Aine Doty and Pelton buoyed the UI defensive effort, logging 10 and eight digs, respectively.Â
Northern Colorado's Cece Huhn and Kailey Jo Ince led the Bears on offense with 14 and 13 kills, respectively, while setter Syd Cole tallied 43 assists.Â
After falling in the contest's opening frame, 25-15, the Vandals battled tough in the second set, with the score tied up at 21-21. The Bears would go on a 4-0 run to earn a 25-21 victory before carrying the momentum into the third, sealing the deal with a 25-16 win.Â
Up next, the Vandals wrap up their three-match road trip with a visit to Northern Arizona on Saturday, Oct. 20. First serve is set for noon PT at Rolle Activity Center.
