MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho volleyball team (3-14, 0-5 Big Sky) fell to the Weber State Wildcats (10-6, 4-1 Big Sky) in four sets, 28-30, 15-25, 25-22, 16-25, Saturday afternoon on ICCU Court at Memorial Gym.
Three Vandals posted double-digit kills in the matchup, with freshman
Taryn Vrieling leading the way with 12.
Olivia Gloeckner and Allie Munday each added 10 kills while
Travel Morris posted 6 kills on .455 attacking. Senior setter
Hailey Pelton recorded 29 assists to lead the Vandals.
Freshman
Aine Doty delivered a personal best 23 digs on the afternoon, marking her 14th game with double-figure digs. Munday and Pelton added 13 and 12, respectively.
Middle hitter
Madison Wilson posted seven blocks, including one solo to lead Idaho at the net. Wilson leads the team in blocks with 54.
For the Wildcats, Dani Richins and Emma Mangum led the WSU attack with 18 and 16 kills, respectively.
Up next, the Vandals head back on the road to face Eastern Washington (7-10, 2-3 Big Sky), starting a three-match road trip for Idaho. The match gets underway at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14.
