Women's Basketball Notebook - vs. Sacramento State, Northern Colorado

MOSCOW, Idaho - The Vandals will close out their five-game homestand with three games this weekend. The Vandals will host Sacramento State on Thursday, Feb. 24, Northern Colorado on Saturday, Feb. 26 and the Vandals wrap up the home schedule by hosting Portland State on Monday, Feb. 28. Idaho will celebrate their four seniors with a short ceremony before the Feb. 26 game. The games will be streamed live on ESPN+. Live Stats can be found here.

THE VANDALS
The Vandals are 8-16 and 7-8 on the season. They are currently sitting in seventh place in the Big Sky only a game and a half out of fourth place as they battle down the homestretch of the 2021-22 season. Three of the five remaining games are at home in ICCU Arena as the Vandals fight to secure a top-five finish to secure a first-round bye in the upcoming conference tournament. Louise Forsyth scored a career-high 29 points in the 73-76 loss at Montana. For the season, she is shooting 40.4 percent and is averaging 13.5 points a game. Over the last five games, Paris Atchley is averaging 7.5 points a game while shooting 48.6 percent (17-35). Beyonce Bea was named Big Sky Conference Player of the Week. She has recorded five double-doubles on the season. She has scored in double figures in 14 straight games reaching 20 or more points five times during that stretch. She is averaging 13.8 points and 8.0 rebounds a game while shooting 42.2 percent from the field. Sydney Gandy is averaging 10.1 points a game. Both Gandy and Allison Kirby are averaging over 3.5 assists a game.  Kirby is averaging 1.8 steals a game. Tiana Johnson is shooting 39.3 percent from distance and leads the team in three-point field goals made.

SACRAMENTO STATE
The Hornets are 13-12 and 9-7 in conference play. They are one of three teams sitting a game and a half above the Vandals in the standings. The Hornets are averaging 65.6 points and games and they are shooting 43.6 percent from the field. Lianna Tillman leads the team with 20.5 points and 6.1 assists per game. Isnelle Natabou is shooting 63 percent from the floor and is averaging 14.1 points and 11.7 rebounds a game. Summer Menke is averaging 12.0 points a game.

NORTHERN COLORADO
The Bears are 11-13 and 7-9 in conference play. UNC is averaging 60 points a game while shooting 40 percent from the field. Hannah Simental leads the team with 14 points and two assists a game while shooting at a 43 percent clip. Kurstyn Harden is shooting 46.7 percent and is averaging 11.2 points and 7.3 rebounds a game. 

PORTLAND STATE
The Vikings 5-19 and 0-16 on the season. They are averaging 60.5 points a game shooting 37 percent from the field. Esmeralda Morales leads the team with 11. 8 points, 3.7 assists and 2.0 rebounds a game. Jada Lewis is averaging 10.9 and 4.0 rebounds a game.
