SPOKANE, Wash. – The Vandal indoor track and field team won four events and set a school record at the Washington State Invitational at The Podium.
The distance medley relay team of

Spencer Barrera,
Zac Bright,
Lorenz Herrmann won the relay with a 9:48.41 shattering a 25-year-old school record by nearly six seconds. The run was the best time in the Big Sky this season and is currently the 18
th best time in the nation.
Grady Leonard continues to impress. Winning the men's weight throw for the third week in a row. His throw of 21.47 meters is second all-time in school history (21.56) and is the top mark in the Big Sky. He currently owns the 15
th best throw in the nation.
Zachary Nunis won the men's long jump with a jump of 7.26 meters.
Lorenz Herrmann won the men's 800 meters in a time of 1:50.74 seconds.
Zac Bright finished in fifth place with a time of 1:52.52.
"We had a great weekend, the team is really starting to put things together," director of track & field/cross country
Tim Cawley said. "I saw Vandals competing in every discipline and getting after it. This team is hitting on all cylinders at the right time."
In the 60-meter dash,
Caleb Hagan took second place in the men's race with a time of 6.84 seconds.
Camryn Crouch took seventh in the women's race with a time of 7.72 seconds.
Jurrian Hering took third in the 60 meters hurdles with a time of 7.95 seconds.
Nell Baker took second in the women's mile with a time of 4:54.18 seconds.
Kelsey Swenson took placed third in the women's 5000 meters with a time of 17:06.79.
Cruz Flores took fourth in the men's race in a time of 14:53.38 seconds.
Joseph Ruddell placed fourth in the high jump with a jump of 2.06 meters.
Hannah Ringel took third in the women's shot put with a throw of 15.23 meters.
"Really excited to see where we are at and how the next two weeks heading into the conference," Cawley said.
The Vandals will be back in action next weekend when they head back to Spokane, Wash. To participate in the Whitworth Invitational at The Podium.
