Moscow, Idaho - The University of Idaho Track & Field/Cross Country program is thrilled to announce the commitment of Hannah Russell, a graduate transfer from Xavier (Ohio).
Originally from Port Perry, Ontario, Canada, Hannah will be joining the Vandals next fall while she continues her education at the graduate level, pursuing a degree in environmental science.
The 2020 indoor season was record-setting for Hannah. She set the indoor school record in the 800m at 2:10.46" at the Music City Challenge. She followed up that performance two weeks later with a fifth-place finish at the Big East Indoor Championships in 2:12.84".
Hannah is a four-time school record holder at Xavier; individually in the 800m (indoor) and as a member of the 4x800 meter relay (indoor and outdoor) and 4x1500 meter relay (outdoor) teams.
Hannah has been named to the Dean's list four times (Fall 2019, Spring & Fall 2020, Fall 2021) and to the Big East All-Academic team in 2020 and in 2021.
"We are so excited to have Hannah join our Vandal family,"Â Director of Track & Field/Cross Country
Tim Cawley said. "She brings experience on track and will contribute in the classroom as well. She will fit in great with the team."
