SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Yvonne Vinceri carded a career-best two-under 70 to surge into second place at the Big Sky Championship at Talking Stick Golf Course in Scottsdale. Teammate
Eddie Hsu was one-under 71, including an eagle on the par-five 15th hole.
The duo led the Vandals to a team score of 291, good enough to push the Vandals into a tie for second place with Sacramento State and Weber State.
"I am really proud of the full team effort today," head coach
Stephanie Young said. "They came out and played with focus and determination to make a move. We are right where we wanted to be and excited to have the opportunity to compete one more time together tomorrow, especially for our seniors."
Vinceri's big day moved her up 11 spots in the standings. She is now tied with Big Sky Player of the Year Jennifer Koga for second place at even par. NAU's Ekaterina Malakhova is seven-under through two rounds.
Valeria Patino was three-over for the day and is tied for sixth in the tournament. Hsu jumped 15 spots into a tie for 18th place at five over for the tournament and
Vicky Tsai is tied for 24th at six over.
Ally Kerr is tied for 46th at 14 over for the weekend.
