MOSCOW, Idaho - The University of Idaho Track & Field/Cross Country program is excited to announce the signing
Anna Spatz, a long jumper and sprinter from Germany, an addition that will provide an immediate impact for the Vandals.
The 2021 season was a breakout for Anna and established her as a top jumper in the state of Bavaria. After claiming the under-20 outdoor championship in the long jump in July with a then personal best mark of 5.69 meters (18'8"), Anna capped off this impressive season by leaping to a 5.81 meter (19'0.75") personal best, a mark over a half meter better than her previous best the season before. Along with her accomplishment in the jump event, she was part of the runner-up 4x100 meter relay team at the Bavarian Championships.
The 2022 season began the same way id ended for Anna, at the top of the podium when she claimed the indoor under-20 Bavarian Championship title in the long jump with a near personal best of 5.80 meters (19'0,34"). A champion in the classroom as well, Anna has earned multiple academic awards including the Golden Needle of Honor from the German Association of Classical Philologists as the top student in Latin, and has earned certificates of honor a paper written in Latin.
