MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho women's soccer opens the 2022 fall campaign Monday against the University of Calgary in an exhibition game Monday at 3 p.m. at the Kibbie Dome.
The game will not consist of two 45-minute halves like normal, but instead, the coaches plan to play three 30-minute periods with 10-minute breaks as the players ease into game shape.
The Vandals are coming off a 10-6-2 season and return seven starters from last year's team, including the top six goal scorers from 2021.
Idaho will look to replace goalkeeper
Avrie Fox.
Hallie Byzewski returns on the goalkeeper side with freshmen
Brooke Auth and
Kira Witte competing for the spot.
There are plenty of new faces on the Vandal squad. Six transfers and seven freshmen joined the Vandals this season.
The Vandals welcome a Dino team that went 12-4-2 last season and went to the Canada West Playoffs, where they fell in the first round in a shootout.
There will be no live stats or video stream of the match.
