MOSCOW, Idaho - The Idaho Vandals make a Midwest trek with games in the twin cities and chicago this weekend. They open against St. Thomas Thursday afternoon in St. Paul before traveling to Chicago Sunday for the first-ever meeting against Chicago State.
ABOUT IDAHO: Idaho is 2-1 after grabbing a 1-0 win over Nevada Sunday in the Kibbie Dome. The Vandal dominated posession to mover over .500 on the season. The Vandals are paced by a solid mix of experience and a strong group of newcomers, including reigning Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week, freshman goalkeeper

ABOUT ST. THOMAS: The Tommies are 2-1 on the year with wins over Drake and and Chicago State and a 1-0 loss to Utah Tech. STU is in its second year as a Division I school after making the jump directly from DIII.Idaho picked up a 3-2 OT win over St. Thomas in the dome a year ago.
ABOUT CHICAGO STATE: Chicago State is 0-4-0 in its first year under head coach Aulani Fernandez. The Cougars and Vandals have never played.
ADDING DEPTH: The Vandals return their top six scorers off of last year's team, including Honorable Mention All-Big Sky honoree
Jadyn Hanks (five goals, 11 points) and fifth-year player Savannah Foster (five goals, three GWG). Six transfers and six freshman have joined the Vandal squad this season, adding depth and talent to an already solid roster.
BIG SKY HONORS: Freshman goalkeeper
Kira Witte was named the Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week after earning a shutout against Nevada in the 1-0 win in the Kibbie Dome. It was her second-career shutout in just three games.
SUPER SENIOR: Savannah Foster took advantage of her extra season due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. She will be entering her fifth year as a Vandal. She has played in 64 games and made 51 starts, including the last 42 consecutive games. The last game that she didn't start for Idaho was Sept. 8, 2019 against UC Riverside.
