JACKSONVILLE - The Idaho volleyball team fell to the Tarleton State Texans, 20-25, 17-25, 23-25, on Saturday afternoon in Swisher Gymnasium.
Freshman
Olivia Gloeckner led the Vandals with eight kills. Outside hitters
Allison Munday and
Taryn Vrieling each pitched in seven kills. Gloeckner and Munday also added three blocks each and combined for 15 digs.
Madison Wilson was exceptional at the net for Idaho with 10 blocks, including three solos, making for her best defensive effort as a Vandal. Libero
Aine Doty added 10 digs to lead the team in digs.
Hailey Pelton and
Kate Doorn split time at setter, recording 12 and 10 assists, respectively.
For the Texans, Megan Haynes led with 12 kills on .303 attacking while Grayson Schirpik added 11.
As a team, Idaho posted a season-high 11 total blocks (three solos, 16 assists) on defense.
Up next, the Vandals make their last non-conference road trip of the season to Laramie for the University of Wyoming Invite. Idaho will face off against Morehead State, Wyoming and Nicholls State, Sept. 16-17.
