Vandal Hoops Drop Road Matchup at Eastern Washington

CHENEY, Wash. – The Idaho men's basketball team fell on the road, 95-74 on Saturday afternoon at Reese Court.

Guard Divant'e Moffitt led the charge offensively for Idaho with 29 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the field and 3-of-4 from three. It was Moffitt's sixth 20-plus point scoring effort of the season. Forward Isaac Jones chipped in 14 points and seven rebounds.

Moffitt opened the game with the Vandals' first five points to hold an early 5-4 lead with 17:25 left in the first period. The Vandals went cold for the next seven minutes of action as they were unable to score a field goal until the 10:22 mark. EWU pulled out to a 30-20 advantage before Idaho went on a 9-2 run to make a three-point game (32-29). The Eagles closed out the first half by scoring nine of the next 12 points to secure a 41-32 advantage at the break.

Moffitt scored 18 first-half points on 6-of-11 from the field. Besides Moffitt's effort, the Vandals struggled to find success offensively as they shot 36 percent (9-of-25) from the field.

The Eagles pulled out to a 50-32 advantage to start the second half and never looked back, securing a 95-74 win.

Yusef Salih and Rashad Smith each came off the bench and recorded double-figure scoring efforts. Salih posted 13 points and made three shots from three while R. Smith had 10 points.

The Eagles shot 61 percent (36-of-59) for the game. Forward Angelo Allegri scored 18 points to lead EWU.
