FARMINGTON, Utah – Idaho men's basketball fifth-year guard
Divant'e Moffitt was named the Big Sky Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Tuesday, as announced by the league office.
Moffitt averaged 30.5 points, 4.5 assists and shot 55 percent (18-of-33) from the field against the top two teams in the league in Eastern Washington and Montana State.
The 6-3 guard posted 29 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the field against EWU before following it up with a career-high 32 points and seven assists in a 74-70 win over the defending Big Sky Champions, Montana State.
The Spanaway, Washington native has recorded 20-plus points in seven games and scored at least 29 points in four contests.
In the Big Sky, Moffit ranks first in total assists (98), second in assists per game (5.2), third in scoring average (17.9) and fourth in field percentage (47.9).
This is the third conference weekly honor earned by an Idaho player this season. Forward
Isaac Jones was named player of the week twice (Nov. 29 & Jan. 10) so far this season.
The Vandals head to Flagstaff, Arizona to take on the Lumberjacks on Thursday, Jan. 19 at 5 p.m. PT.
